Harder Styles United (HSU) is one of Australia's leading event organisers. In order to provide customers with a quality service, HSU offers customers the ability to sign up and search for official promoters, interact with official promoters, subscribe to our newsletter, enter competitions.
HSU also offers official promoters the ability to create a profile, whereby customers can search for and contact them, and interact with HSU staff regarding ticketing matters (including purchasing, requests, payments, etc.). In order to provide these services, HSU collects personal information about customers and promoters. Collection of this information will occur at the time you search for a promoter, register as a promoter, or when you register to the HSU newsletter.
What personal information does HSU collect and why?
As a customer; we need to collect personal information about you, which may include your email address, mobile phone number and post code. The reason we need this information is so we can show you relevant information pertaining to the location of HSU promoters, send you newsletters, and contact you regarding upcoming events and tickets. HSU will also provide you with the opportunity to receive special offers and promotions if you wish to do so. Even if you initially choose to subscribe to receive special offers, you may also unsubscribe or resubscribe at a later stage – all you need to do is visit the links at the bottom of our communications.
As a promoter; we need to collect personal information about you including name, email address, phone number, date of birth, address, social media links, and a photo of your ID. Promoters will also be required to accept Terms & Conditions as part of their official contract with HSU – this will require full name, date and signature. The reason we need this information is so that we can build your public profile on our website, so that customers may search and contact you should they need to purchase event tickets. We also need this information for legal & security purposes, and as it is used in the integrated ticket management platform (i.e. the 'Promoter Hub'), where promoters may update their information (should it change) and request and purchase tickets.
Will personal information be given to anyone else?
HSU will not sell or trade personal information about you to or with third parties. HSU will only disclose information about you, if you have given your consent, so that either:
i. You can register and purchase tickets via Ticketbooth
ii. You can be provided with promotional material and special offers,
iii. Your promoter profile can be included on the promoters page of the website,
iv. You, as an official promoter, can use the 'Promoter Hub' ticketing management platform.
Otherwise, HSU will only disclose personal information if this is required by law or permitted under the Privacy Act.
Security of personal information/Non-customer information
HSU may need to collect personal information about individuals who are not customers. This will arise where we collect the information of official promoters. As stated in the points above, HSU's policy is to only use personal information collected from promoters for the main business purpose for which it was collected.
Access and correction
Under the Privacy Act, you have a right to seek access to information that HSU holds about you. You also have the right to ask us to correct information about you, which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Both customers and promoters may ask us to correct information, which is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
As a customer; to provide you with access to personal information about you, HSU would usually provide you with a PDF of the relevant personal information from our database. If you wish to access the personal information that we hold about you, please set out your request in an email, including your phone number, and forward this to our Privacy Officer at [email protected] In the interests of protecting the privacy of individuals about whom we hold personal information, we will require that you verify your identity by attaching a COPY of a form of identification such as a current driver’s licence or passport with your request (this will be destroyed to you after your identity has been verified). If you wish to change personal information that is inaccurate or out-of-date, please email our Privacy Officer at [email protected], with your request for correction. HSU's policy is to consider any requests for access or correction within 21 days. Ordinarily, HSU will not charge you for the cost of providing this type of access to these records.
As a promoter; you have full access to login to your profile to view and/or update personal information about you without permission, excluding your name. If difficulties arise when trying to update personal information, please email our Privacy Officer at [email protected] and request the changes.
