TICKET SALES & EVENT ENTRY TERMS

TERMS

These terms govern the purchase of tickets (“Ticket”) and entry to events hosted by HSU, including but not limited to HTID, Midnight Mafia, Knockout Outdoor, and EPIK, among others. These events (“Events”) are organised and managed by SSE Entertainment Group Pty Ltd (ABN 21 643 562 270), referred to herein as “we,” “our,” or “the Promoter.”

These terms should be read alongside any additional instructions available on our official website at https://www.hsuevents.com (“Website”), on your Ticket, or posted at the venue. Collectively, these documents form the binding agreement between you (“you” or “Attendee”) and the Promoter. By purchasing a Ticket or entering an Event, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms.

We may update these Terms at our discretion. Any updates will be published on our Website. It is your responsibility to stay informed and review these Terms regularly. If you do not agree to the current version, do not buy or use a Ticket, and do not attend the Event.  Should you wish to be advised of any updates to our Terms, you may elect to join our mailing list in which instance you will be notified of new Terms at the time of their incorporation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Entry to our Events is subject to the following conditions:

  • All Events are strictly 18+ — no one under 18 will be admitted under any circumstances.

  • All attendees must follow applicable Australian State and Commonwealth laws at all times.

  • To enter, you must present both a valid Ticket and acceptable photo ID (collectively referred to as “Valid Entry”).

  • Acceptable photo ID (“Valid ID”) includes an Australian driver’s licence, passport, or a government-issued proof of age card. International guests must provide a valid passport.

  • Pass-outs (leaving and re-entering the venue) are not permitted under any circumstances.By entering an Event you acknowledge that your image or likeness may be captured by the Promoter in photographs or videos, and you hereby provide consent to the Promoter to use the photographs or videos containing your image or likeness for any commercial purposes the Promoter may undertake at its own discretion and for its sole benefit.

REFUSAL OF ENTRY & EJECTION

We reserve the right to deny access to, or eject from, the Event without refund anyone:

  • Without a Valid Ticket or Valid ID.

  • Displaying intoxicated, offensive, aggressive, harassing, unsafe, or otherwise disruptive behaviour.

  • Found with prohibited items.

  • Impersonating event personnel, media, emergency responders, or Promoter staff.

  • Intending to report on the Event for media purposes without prior written consent from the Promoter.

  • Who enters restricted areas without authorisation.

  • Who fails to follow lawful instructions from Event staff or security.

  • Found to be in violation of these Terms.

Should you be removed from the Event, your Ticket will be cancelled and re-entry will not be permitted.

TICKET TERMS

By purchasing a Ticket to the Event, you agree to the following conditions regarding ticket sales and usage:

  • All ticket purchases are non-refundable and final. If you are unable to attend the Event or make an error during the purchasing process, you will not be eligible for a refund, exchange, or return.

  • Tickets are for personal use only and must not be resold at a price above the original face value unless prior written approval is granted by the Promoter.

  • Tickets may be transferred if the original Ticket holder can no longer attend the event. Names on Tickets must be changed to match the ID of the Attendee using the Ticket. Name changes may attract a fee.

  • Tickets are also not to be used for marketing, promotional activities, or commercial gain without the express written consent of the Promoter.

  • If you do not receive confirmation of your ticket purchase, encounter an error message, or your transaction is interrupted, it is your responsibility to follow up with the relevant ticketing provider to confirm whether your order was successful.

  • Each Ticket permits entry for one person only. Tickets that are lost, stolen or damaged may not be replaced.

We may enforce ticket limits and reserve the right to cancel orders that exceed published purchase restrictions.

TICKET TYPES AND VALIDITY

Tickets for the Event must be obtained through one of the following authorised methods:

  • Digital tickets ("E-Tickets") purchased via the official Ticketbooth platform.

  • Physical tickets ("Industry Tickets") acquired from authorised HSU Ambassadors.

To gain entry, a Valid Ticket must be presented for scanning at the gate. A Valid Ticket includes:

  • A printed E-Ticket (undamaged and clearly legible)

  • A digital ticket presented on a mobile device (PDF or mobile wallet format); or

  • A physical Industry Ticket issued directly by an HSU Ambassador.

E-Tickets will be delivered by email to the address used at the time of purchase, and delivery may be delayed until the week of the Event. Please note that E-Ticket purchases incur a booking fee.

All ticket prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST.

EVENT CHANGES, CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

The Promoter reserves the right to make changes to any aspect of the Event at its sole discretion. This may include but is not limited to: the lineup of performers, event dates, venue, opening and closing times, stage or performance schedules, number and type of attractions or acts, site layout, amenities, vendor stalls, and overall event programming or capacity (“Event Elements”). These adjustments may be made without prior notice, and no refunds or compensation will be provided due to such modifications. However, if a date change prevents you from attending, the Promoter may consider a refund at its sole discretion.

In circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control (“Force Majeure”), the Event may be cancelled entirely. Examples of Force Majeure include but are not limited to severe weather, flooding, fire, natural disasters, labour strikes, infectious breakouts, venue damage, civil unrest, police or council decisions, or other extraordinary events that render the Event impractical or unsafe to operate. If the Event is cancelled due to a Force Majeure situation, the Promoter may, but is not obligated to, issue refunds. Should refunds be offered, they will apply only to the base ticket price paid and will not cover booking or transaction fees, postage costs, or other surcharges.

In the unlikely case the Event is cancelled for reasons unrelated to Force Majeure, the Promoter will issue refunds limited to the original ticket price. This refund policy applies only to tickets purchased through official channels – either via Ticketbooth or through an authorised HSU Ambassador. Tickets acquired through unofficial or resale sources will not be eligible for any form of reimbursement. No other compensation, including travel or accommodation costs, will be offered in connection with a cancellation.

BAG CHECKS & SECURITY SCREENING

To ensure a safe and secure experience for everyone, all attendees may be required to undergo security screening before entering the Event site. This may include visual inspections, bag checks, pat-downs, metal detection, and other screening methods carried out by security staff.

If you choose not to comply with any part of the screening process — including refusing, interrupting, or obstructing the search — you will be denied entry, and no refund will be issued.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items (Collectively referred to as “Prohibited Items”) are strictly banned from being brought into the Event grounds:

  • Cans, glassware, or metal drink containers

  • Alcohol or any external beverages

  • Fireworks, flares, lasers, or similar explosive items

  • Illegal drugs or controlled substances

  • Unsealed cigarette packs or vaping products

  • Backpacks/bags larger than A4 size

  • Professional photography, video, or audio equipment (including selfie sticks)

  • All liquids and aerosol products

  • Inhalants such as nasal sprays, nitrous oxide (nangs), butane, or similar substances

  • Full-face masks (excluding those worn for safety or medical reasons)

  • Chewing gum

  • Weapons or items that could be considered dangerous or anything that has the appearance of such an item including toy or replica weapons

Most Prohibited Items, except those considered illegal, may be discarded or stored in a designated cloakroom near the entrance. Any attendee found attempting to conceal prohibited items will be denied entry to the Event and no refund will be issued.

The use, possession, or sale of illegal substances is strictly forbidden. The Promoter does not tolerate or support drug use. Any individual found with illegal drugs or other illegal item such as a weapon will be removed from the Event and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.

CODE OF CONDUCT

As an Event attendee, you agree to behave in a way that supports the safety, enjoyment, and well-being of everyone present.

This includes the following:

  • Following any additional rules set by the venue or relevant authorities

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in removal from the Event without a refund.

SAFETY NOTICE

Attending the Event is entirely at your own risk. By entering the Event grounds, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of physical contact from others (including pushing or crowd movement), exposure to loud sound levels that may result in temporary or permanent hearing damage, changing weather conditions (such as sun, high temperatures, wind, or rain), and other potentially challenging or uncomfortable situations.

You agree to take personal responsibility for your well-being and to come prepared for a variety of environmental or physical factors. You hereby waive and forego any rights to make any claims for losses and injuries suffered by you on the Event Site to the full extent permitted by law.

POLICE PRESENCE

Please be aware that law enforcement officers may be present at the Event. Police may exercise their authority to question patrons, remove individuals from the site, or take other necessary actions beyond those outlined in these Terms and Conditions.

All attendees are expected to cooperate respectfully with police officers. If you are unsure of your rights in an interaction with police, we recommend seeking legal advice.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE

In the event of a medical emergency or if a situation arises where your health or safety — or that of others — is at risk, the Promoter may arrange for on-site medical care or emergency evacuation at its sole discretion (“Emergency Medical Assistance”). By attending the Event, you consent to receiving such assistance if deemed necessary by the Promoter or emergency personnel.

You also consent to the collection and limited sharing of any personal medical information obtained during such assistance. This information may be shared with medical professionals, emergency responders, or third parties where necessary for treatment, reporting, auditing, or investigation.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

If an emergency occurs — including the need for evacuation or crowd control — you must follow all directions from emergency services, security, and event staff immediately and without delay.

The Promoter retains the right to take any action it deems necessary to protect the safety of patrons, including:

  • Temporarily halting or ending the Event

  • Fully or partially evacuating the Event or specific zones

  • Restricting access to the site or parts of it, even for those holding valid tickets

  • Closing off areas to manage crowds and prevent surges or unsafe conditions

If you observe or experience a safety issue or medical emergency, notify the closest security staff member immediately. Trained first aid personnel are on duty throughout the Event and can be contacted through event or security staff.

LIABILITY

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to personal items brought onto or purchased at the Event, including bags, valuables, or personal property.

You agree to indemnify the Promoter, including its staff, representatives, affiliates, and contractors, from any claims, damages, or liabilities (including legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms and Conditions or the conduct of any third party linked to your actions.

The Promoter is not liable for injuries, losses, delays, or additional costs that may occur due to a Force Majeure event (as previously defined), including if the Event is delayed, shortened, or cancelled for such reasons.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All branding, logos, promotional materials, photographs, and other creative assets associated with the Event are the exclusive property of the Promoter ("Event IP"). Use of this content for anything beyond private and non-commercial purposes requires the prior written consent of the Promoter.

FILMING & PHOTOGRAPHY

Only authorised media personnel may use recording or camera equipment during the Event. Any unauthorised person found in possession of such equipment (e.g., microphones, video cameras, DSLRs) may be removed from the Event and banned from future attendance, unless written approval and a valid media pass from the Promoter has been obtained and can be shown on request.

By attending the Event, you agree that images, videos, or recordings that include your likeness may be captured and used by the Promoter for marketing, promotional, or other purposes at its discretion.

PROMOTIONAL DISTRIBUTION

Attendees are strictly prohibited from handing out unauthorised marketing or promotional materials — including flyers, wristbands, posters, stickers, or tickets — anywhere on the Event grounds or in the surrounding vicinity.

GENERAL TERMS

If any part of these Terms and Conditions is deemed invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.

The Promoter reserves the right to assign, license, or transfer any of its rights or responsibilities under these Terms to another entity (such as a third-party organiser or promoter). If this occurs, you agree that such a transfer releases the Promoter from its original obligations under this agreement.
